Segment fittings made of PE pipes, for butt welding

Segmental (welded) connecting parts are designed for the device of various turns, branches, transitions from one diameter to another and connections of polyethylene water pipes during their installation. The segment fittings are connected to the pipe using a PE pipe butt fusion machine. In some cases, thermistor fittings can also be used to connect them.

Pipelines that are mounted using welded segment fittings are intended for transporting water, including for domestic and drinking water supply, as well as other liquid and gaseous substances to which polyethylene is chemically resistant at temperatures from 0 ° C to + 40 ° C, at maximum working pressure up to 2.5 MPa.

The advantage of segment (welded) fittings is the ability to quickly manufacture them from an already produced pipe and a lower price compared to cast analogs.

For the manufacture of fittings, stationary welding equipment is used. This equipment allows the production of T-shaped tees, elbows at 30 °, 45 °, 60 °, 90 ° degrees, reduction transitions and to produce lengthening of short collar sleeves and transitions. The range of segment fittings produced in Ukraine is from 90mm to 630mm, with standard dimensional ratios SDR 26 - SDR 9. At the moment, all welded fittings are made of PE pipes made of PE-100 polyethylene. Larger diameter fittings (up to 1200 mm) are imported.

All welded segment fittings are tested in factory laboratories. The main tests are: visual inspection, resistance at constant internal pressure at 20 ° C, tensile test of the weld.
